Pale Ales

Pale Ale continues to be a very popular beer style among beer lovers. Even though IPA still reigns as king of craft beer styles, most IPA drinkers also enjoy the hop-forward characteristics of a well-crafted pale ale. Both styles are somewhat similar after all, though pale ales tend to be a bit more subdued compared to their IPA cousins. The current trend is to showcase fruity/citrusy hop aromas and flavours, but lessen the overall bitterness in the beer. The Best in Class, Annex Ale Project’s Forward Progress Pale Ale does just that. The tropical fruit and citrus elements shine though, while maintaining a good malt backbone and a nice silky mouthfeel. Kirk Bodnar
