Gewürztraminer is an underappreciated grape and that’s unfortunate because it has so much to offer. The category offers expressive wines that were very drinkable and food friendly. The array of flavours and aromas that the best wines offered was impressive: stone fruit, lychee, white flowers, Asian spice and much more. Some of the wines could use a touch more acidity but, all in all, it was an impressive group of tasty and affordable wines. The perennially terrific Wild Goose Gewürztraminer was the best of the bunch and it was a treat to drink.
