Eats of the Week: Alforno & Azuridge
I love it when my local adds new dishes to their menu so I can keep trying different things, and I especially love it when one becomes my new fave. The Endive Salad at Alforno might just have taken that spot. Come hungry for it as it's a very generous dish of crunchy Belgian endive, fresh frisee, candied walnuts - and of course, my favourite word – gorgonzola! And it’s all lightly and dressed with a white wine vinaigrette. I can’t believe I finish this whole dish on my own – regularly!

Even if you can’t stay overnight at Azuridge, eating here is a treat in itself. You choose your appetizer, soup or salad, main, and dessert from a selection that I really was spoiled for choice. Fortunately my dining partner shared the same tastes as me so we could order different dishes from Chef Chubachi’s menu and try each other’s. I loved the portion sizes, the plating, the flavours, and of course - the impeccable service. Shown here are the Baby Kale Salad with pomegranate vinaigrette that comes with a cheese fondue and French baguette (yum!), the Seafood Platter, Mushroom Vol-au-Vent, and Brome Lake Duck Two Ways – one herb-marinated duck breast with grilled Okanagan peaches, and one truffle oil infused duck leg confit with a Grand Marnier duck jus reduction – yes, it was all excellent!
