Workshop: Kitchen + Culture
Sometimes when you’re meeting for a business lunch, you don’t want to spend much time reading a menu, so we were grateful all the hard work was done for us at Workshop. The Lougheed Lunch still gives you choices, but they’re pretty easy ones: soup or salad to start – it was a chilly day, and we all heard curry soup with toasted walnuts – three ‘yes please’s.
Daily braise or market fish – we heard pickerel, roast potatoes, roast cauliflower, green beans – mmm, mmm, three please. We all went for fresh fruit salad with orange blossom honey for dessert instead of the walnut caramel brownie, as we were all already full after the main. It comes with coffee or Workshop pop too, and is terrific value for three courses of creative, well thought-out good food, packed with Chef Kenny Kaechele’s signature robust flavours.

Lucky us! We didn’t know when we ordered the seafood corn chowder to start our lunch at Divino that it was brand new on the menu, but apparently it’s been very popular since it recently made the list. And we know why – it has all the essentials of a good corn chowder on a cold day: thick, rich and super creamy with plenty of corn, shrimp, clams and mussels, and served piping hot. Go for it!
