Ollia Macarons & Tea

After promising myself a visit for far too long, I finally made it to Ollia to try their Blue Cheese, Pear and Pecan Macaron – and so glad I did! For a blue cheese junkie like me, these are the perfect treat. They’re bright blue, with an alluring aroma; they smell like blue cheese and have a subtle taste of it too. The almond meringue shell is made only from egg whites, almond flour and a delicate use of sugar – perfect if you don’t have a sweet tooth. And, bonus… there’s only 50 calories in each!

Macarons $2 each, Ollia Macarons & Tea, 810C 16 Ave SW, 403-457-9775, byollia.com, @ByOllia

Tin Cup Whiskey

Who doesn’t like good whiskey? Technically Tin Cup is bourbon, given that it contains over 50% corn mass, but I mean, how can you go wrong with that either? Made from Colorado Rocky Mountain water, it goes down smooth and is perfect in a classic Old Fashioned. Yes, yes, yes.

$45-50. Available at select liquor stores.
