Il Grappolo 2010, Brunello di Montalcino

Relatively new to our shores is this lovely, and regionally typical example of Brunello di Montelcino. Il Grappolo is a wine for Calgary, big and bold, yet super smooth, with soft refined tannins and a long finish. This 100 per cent sangiovese wine is elegant and just starting to show its years. Brunello is only released for purchase five years after the vintage year, and the 2010 Il Grappolo will last in your cellar for many years to come, but is drinking perfectly now – 2010 was an outstanding vintage for Brunello. The earthy, forest-floor notes will have you asking your local butcher for veal shanks so you can make Osso Buco at home to pair with it! CSPC 774988, $55
