Chateau Mourgues du Grès, Galets Rosés
You know summer’s coming when delicious crisp, dry rosés cross your path, and here’s one brand new rosé wine that will have you on the deck in no time. From southern Rhone Valley’s Costières-de-Nîmes, Galets Rosés takes its name from the rose-coloured sandstone of the area. It’s a juicy blend of the two main grapes of the region, syrah and grenache, and has a very attractive nose of wild raspberries. On the palate there are mouthwatering hints of grapefruit alongside the red berry flavours, making you long for a spinach or kale salad with goat cheese, tomatoes, an olive or two, and herb croutons; or a plate of charcuterie with pickles.
