The nose on this wine is a lovely combination of Anjou pear and mint, and has a creamy mouth feel. It’s a delicious wine and a great value, and can be enjoyed as much on its own as with food. It calls out for a spinach and pear salad with Gorgonzola and toasted hazelnuts, and would be ideal with a pizza like Alforno’s Yukon with olive oil, garlic, potato, bacon, carmelized onion, pickled jalapeño, fior di latte, and goat cheese. You also can’t go wrong with the Pear Pizza with olive oil, gorgonzola, pear, fior di latte, candied walnut, and honey drizzle! CSPC +737134 $20

This pinot noir is completely delicious – I really didn’t want the bottle to end! It has a deep nose of ripe black cherries with a hint of mint, cinnamon, and those liquorice roots that we used to chew when we were young. On the palate it’s equally engaging – rounded and smooth, with tannins that are present but soft and silky. This wine is a temptress, seducing you and drawing you in to its world, and whispering, “love me!” And I do! It doesn’t need food to be enjoyable but it could make you hungry for some charcuterie or some sliced warm, rare duck breast. Bring it on! CSPC +740495 $39
