YYC Food & Drink Experience is busy feeding food and drinks enthusiasts until March 31 for 17 days of delicious dining. With prix fixe menus at 90 participating restaurants and inspired signature culinary events, YYC EXP, Calgary’s premier culinary festival celebrates the best chefs, sommeliers, and bartenders the city has to offer.
“We are delighted to have 90 restaurants participating this year and are excited to bring locals and visitors together to celebrate our vibrant culinary scene here in Calgary," says Irena Knorr, Culinary Program Director at Culinary Marketing Strategies. "We have some amazing signature culinary events this year, like collaboration dinners with visiting chefs, cocktail masterclasses, and themed wine-pairing dinners.”
And if you happen to think 17 days of dining is a little too short, you may find yourself the lucky winner of tasty daily prizes or even a year’s worth of dining. The Dine & Post contest running March 15-April 1, offers daily restaurant gift certificate prizes, along with the grand prize “A Year of Dining”. Tickets sold out fast for signature events like River Café’s collaboration dinner with Canmore’s Änkôr and Major Tom, Francine's and Bar Gigi YYC EXP pop-up, Teatro’s Clos de la Oyster Barre dinner with guest chef David Leeder and the cocktail classes at FinePrint.
A few tickets remain for Barbarella’s Pasta Experience, Hawthorn Dining Room’s whiskey pairing dinner, Deane House’s wine lunch, an eight-course chef duel at The Wilde on 27, a collaboration dinner at Model Citizen featuring Michelin-starred guest chefs from San Francisco’s Slow Burn and Vancouver’s Published on Main, and the recently added Supper Club with Donna Mac at The Garret.
